About Us

Roanoke Valley Model Engineers Members The Roanoke Valley Model Engineers (RVME) Model Railroad Club and its predecessors have been in existence since 1973. The club moved around Roanoke through the years and in 2006 found a home in the basement of the Virginia Transportation Museum (VMT). The building was the previous Shenandoah Division Headquarters of the Norfolk and Western Railroad and is located along the Norfolk Southern tracks through downtown Roanoke.

RVME is open to anyone interested in model railroading. RVME meetings are held every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

  • Regular Membership - Age 18 and older
  • Junior Membership - Age 8 to 18
  • Associate Membership - Individuals who want to attend only a few meetings or would like membership on a trial basis.

Business meetings are held the third Tuesday of every other month.

HO and N also have DC layouts.
